Your Website

Customising your site

How to set your slug, add your story, upload a hero photo, and personalise your wedding website.

Last updated

Your wedding website is the first thing guests see. From the site editor you can personalise every part of it: your shareable link, hero photo, love story, events, photo gallery, FAQ, and travel information. Everything updates in a live preview as you type.

Your shareable link (slug)

Your site is accessible at app.ourbigyes.com/w/your-slug. The slug is the short identifier at the end of the URL. It is set when you register and can be changed from Edit site under the Site link section.

Choose something short and memorable, such as amahle-and-sipho or smithwedding2026. Only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens are allowed.

Important

If you change your slug after sharing the link, your old link will stop working. Update any links you have already shared with guests (in invitations, WhatsApp groups, or email) to point to the new address.

Hero photo

Upload a hero image from Edit site under Hero. Landscape orientation works best across all screen sizes. Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP. Your chosen theme controls how the photo is displayed (full-bleed, framed, or split layout).

Your love story

The story section lets you share how you met, the proposal, or any other details you want guests to know. Open Edit site and select Our story to add or update your text. Keep it as short or as long as you like.

What else can I customise?

From the site editor you can also manage:

  • Events: your ceremony, traditional wedding, and any other occasions (see Adding events)
  • Gallery: a photo gallery section for guests to browse (see Gallery, FAQ and travel)
  • FAQ: answers to common guest questions (dress code, parking, children)
  • Travel and accommodation: maps, directions, and hotel suggestions for out-of-town guests
  • Theme: the overall visual style of the site (see Choosing a theme)

Preview before publishing

Use the Preview site button in the editor to see exactly what your guests will see. Your site must be published before the link goes live.
